The annual Viking festival 2011 in Norway takes place from 9th of June to 12th of June. The festival is held at the Viking farm at Bukkøy and is western Norway’s largest Viking festival. There are several traditional Viking buildings that have been reconstructed to reflect the era. The purpose of the festival is to celebrate and educate people about Viking life and its traditions.
Activities at the festival include Exhibitions of Archery, traditional Viking music and traditional Viking boats. You can see a traditional blacksmith at work, Viking theatre shows and watch demonstrations of Viking weapons in use in battles.

More than 100 acts will play at the festival but have yet to be confirmed for this year. The festival will feature local artists and national bands to celebrate Lancaster’s musical talent.
