The annual Cambridge River Festival takes place on the 4th of June 2011. The festival is free and takes place at the Charles River bank along a mile long stretch of Memorial Drive. The river bank will be taken over by a wealth of art, music, dancing displays and features. There will be five different stages for acts of all disciplines such as Jazz music, folk music and world music. There will also be theatre performances.
Italy’s Stadio Olimpico in Rome plays host to world class athletics on the 26th of May 2011. The Golden Gala is part of the Diamond League series that was created to allow world class athletes to meet on a regular basis. It is also one of the most important of Italy’s international athletics events. The competition is now hosted around the world in locations such as the USA and China as well as in Europe.
Entrants compete in 14 race meetings; with the most consistent entrants having the chance to win a $40,000 prize as well as a trophy made by Beyer, the Swiss jewellers.
The Spanish Grand Prix is just one of the many reasons to take a holiday to Spain. Other reasons include a wide variety of scenes to see such as Flamenco dancers in Barcelona, Beautiful beaches or even the Pyrenees Mountains. The Formula One racing event race takes place on the 22nd of May, with practice sessions and qualifying happening on the 20th and 21st. There is an air of excitement when you see a grand prix race in the flesh, and the noise just cannot be appreciated through a television screen. The Circuit de Catalunya hosts the motor racing weekend and is just outside of Barcelona.

The main reason Schladming gets flagged up on the mountain biking scene radar is that it is home to the “UCI Mountain Bike World Cup at the prestigious “Planai Bike Park”, which opens to visitors and riders alike, when the park is not being used for competitions, which makes it both one Europe’s and the World’s mountain bike capitals today.
